Constituent Services Coordinator
Carolina moved from sunny South Florida to Washington DC three years ago. She graduated from the University of Central Florida in 2012 with a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology. After college, Carolina served two years in AmeriCorps as a National Civilian Community Corps member and as a VISTA member. While in NCCC, Carolina responded to Disaster relief and recovery efforts for Hurricane Sandy in 2012. As a VISTA, Carolina coordinated a Veterans Mentorship program with a local nonprofit in Broward County FL, Impact Broward, and the County’s Veterans Court system. After her VISTA year, she was offered a full-time position as a Program Coordinator where she continued her work on connecting veterans with peer mentors and resources in the community for the next year and a half.
Once in DC, Carolina worked a season with the Close Up Foundation providing civic education programming to middle and high school students visiting the DC. She then began working with a local DC nonprofit SOME (So Others Might Eat) as a Volunteer Coordinator for their Family Housing Program.
Carolina is fluent in English and Spanish.
